‘The Girl On The Train’ by Paula Hawkins – Book + Bonus Movie Review

the girl on the train paula hawkins
I was offered the hardcover of The Girl On The Train last Christmas by Sarah @Sarah’s Bookshelf. So now that my friends wanted to watch the movie, I really, really needed to read the book first (I always need to read the book first).

The Bachelor gone wrong? – Review of ‘The Selection’ by Kiera Cass

‘The Selection’ was quite the popular book a (very long) while ago, but it’s never too late to review it.

Review of ‘The Last Day of Captain Lincoln’ – What if today was your last day?

Have you ever wondered how would it feel if you knew that today was the last day of your life? If death was planned, rather than unexpected? Would have you lived differently? Disclaimer: I have received a free review copy from the author, the opinions expressed are my own. The Last Day of Captain Lincoln…

Review of ‘Nevernight’ – Jay Kristoff

This is a review of an advanced reader copy which has been provided by NetGalley (thanks NetGalley and the publisher) before the official release of the book. Please note that things might have changed since the book has been officially released.

Review of ‘Under the Trees’ – Ashley Maker

Under the Trees
Sometimes all you want to do is read a fairy tale, and believe in the good of the world – that good people can win, and that princesses live happily ever after. But make no mistake, Under the Trees is more than that, it carries an empowering message.

Review of ‘Christmas Ever After’ – Sarah Morgan

When it comes to reviewing this type of books (I call it my guilty pleasure), I don’t expect unpredictable plots or an amazing masterpiece. So the rating is based on how enjoyable and entertaining reading this book for me was (and to be completely honest, that’s how ratings work for me, in general).

Review of The Quantum Door – Jonathan Ballagh

This coming-of-age sci-fi thriller gets from me a final rating of 3.5 stars (4 stars on every other website that doesn’t accept half-stars), having earned the half-star in its last emotional moments plus the fact that it is beautifully illustrated.

Comic Book Review – Fables: Legends in Exile, Vol. 1

This might surprise you as I usually don’t read comics or graphic novels – or haven’t for a while. But I have been playing the game The Wolf Among Us, and it made me want to read this.

Fireblood (Whispers from Mirrowen #1) – Jeff Wheeler

I was pleasantly surprised with this book, and overall I’m impressed that it isn’t rated higher. This book is high-fantasy, supposedly YA-range, and feels refreshingly ‘old school’.

The Reluctant Sacrifice – Kerr-Ann Dempster

Thank you very much to the author for offering me a free copy of her lovely book to review. This is a hidden YA gem.
