This is a review of an advanced reader copy which has been provided by NetGalley (thanks NetGalley and the publisher) before the official release of the book. Please note that things might have changed since the book has been officially released.

Review of ‘Under the Trees’ – Ashley Maker

Under the Trees
Sometimes all you want to do is read a fairy tale, and believe in the good of the world – that good people can win, and that princesses live happily ever after. But make no mistake, Under the Trees is more than that, it carries an empowering message.

Comic Book Review – The Legend of Wonder Woman #1 (issue)

legend of wonder woman
Seeing as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice made Wonder Woman reconquer her presence in pop culture, it is no surprise to see DC Comics taking the opportunity to bring us new and hopefully refreshing projects.

Review of ‘Christmas Ever After’ – Sarah Morgan

christmas ever after sarah morgan
When it comes to reviewing this type of books (I call it my guilty pleasure), I don’t expect unpredictable plots or an amazing masterpiece. So the rating is based on how enjoyable and entertaining reading this book for me was (and to be completely honest, that’s how ratings work for me, in general).

Review of The Quantum Door – Jonathan Ballagh

the quantum door
This coming-of-age sci-fi thriller gets from me a final rating of 3.5 stars (4 stars on every other website that doesn’t accept half-stars), having earned the half-star in its last emotional moments plus the fact that it is beautifully illustrated.

Review of Feast of Fates (Four Feasts Till Darkness #1)

christian adrian brown feast of fates
I have the pleasure today to share my very positive review of Feast of Fates, the first volume in the series Four Feasts Till Darkness by Christian A. Brown, along with a guest post from the author. I hope you enjoy because I sure did.

Review of Bonus Epilogues ‘Otto Von Trapezoid and the Empress of Thieves’

epilogues otto von trapezoid
I was super excited when I found out that Jesse Baruffi had released three bonus epilogues for ‘Otto Von Trapezoid And The Empress of Thieves‘ (you can read my review of the book here). I couldn’t wait to read more about Otto and his ‘friends’.

Comic Book Review – Fables: Legends in Exile, Vol. 1

fables legends in exile
This might surprise you as I usually don’t read comics or graphic novels – or haven’t for a while. But I have been playing the game The Wolf Among Us, and it made me want to read this.

Otto Von Trapezoid and the Empress of Thieves – Jesse Baruffi

Thank you very much to the publisher for offering me a free copy of this book to review. This awesome sci-fi comedy gets 4 stars from me, so keep reading if you want to find out why.

Fireblood (Whispers from Mirrowen #1) – Jeff Wheeler

fireblood jeff wheeler
I was pleasantly surprised with this book, and overall I’m impressed that it isn’t rated higher. This book is high-fantasy, supposedly YA-range, and feels refreshingly ‘old school’.
Beautiful Disaster Natasha R Robinson

Natasha R. Robinson’s “Beautiful Disaster” is a tale of hope and self-love

“Beautiful Disaster” is raw, real, and reader-centered.
rescuing the prince meghann mcvey

Meet Fierce Princesses in “Rescuing the Prince” by Meghann McVey

‘Rescuing The Prince’ is a hidden gem! A fairy tale in the modern world where princesses don’t need to be rescued.

“An Anonymous Girl” caught in disturbing experiment! by Greer Hendricks; Sarah Pekkanen

‘An Anonymous Girl’ was twisted, intriguing, and thought-provoking – all in one. Such a page-turner that I couldn’t put this book down for anything.
too close natalie daniels

And then it gets… “Too Close” by Natalie Daniels

‘Too Close’ is a psychological thriller that got me hooked from the very beginning. In fact, I’m going to give it 5 stars even though it’s not perfect (but as we all know, perfection is impossible to achieve).
she lies in wait

The Dark Mystery of “She Lies in Wait” by Gytha Lodge

‘She Lies in Wait’ was a hell of a read! It’s a compelling mystery thriller which kept me wondering until the very end. So unlike popular opinion (aka Goodreads), I wasn’t able to solve the mystery until near the end.
i heart forever by lindsey kelk

A standalone review of ‘I Heart Forever’ by Lindsey Kelk

‘I Heart Forever’  is #7 in the I Heart series but it was the first I’ve read so my opinion will be focused on this volume on its own.
darkchylde ariel chylde saga

From Comics to Book – Review of ‘DarkChylde’ by R. Queen

This Halloween I’ve received a copy of DarkChylde from the publisher, and it was yet another one of those books I was super excited to read, especially considering it was based on a comic book series (even though I’ve never read the comics).
the girl on the train paula hawkins

‘The Girl On The Train’ by Paula Hawkins – Book + Bonus Movie Review

I was offered the hardcover of The Girl On The Train last Christmas by Sarah @Sarah’s Bookshelf. So now that my friends wanted to watch the movie, I really, really needed to read the book first (I always need to read the book first).

The Bachelor gone wrong? – Review of ‘The Selection’ by Kiera Cass

‘The Selection’ was quite the popular book a (very long) while ago, but it’s never too late to review it.
the last day of captain lincoln

Review of ‘The Last Day of Captain Lincoln’ – What if today was your last day?

Have you ever wondered how would it feel if you knew that today was the last day of your life? If death was planned, rather than unexpected? Would have you lived differently? Disclaimer: I have received a free review copy from the author, the opinions expressed are my own. The Last Day of Captain Lincoln…
